stussy

shawn stussy

yesterday i had the privilege of stopping by shawn stussy’s creative headquarters. shawn is an amazing person who can’t be defined by conventional means. he is a creative thinker, artist, surfer, surf board maker, designer, visual savant and more. he is articulate, down-to-earth and alive. it was an unbelievably inspiring visit.

tom curren interview

tom curren interview

channel islands surfboards just posted a few photos and an interview that i did with one of the world’s greatest surfers – tom curren. his style and approach to surfing is unreal. yet even more, tom is a thoughtful, soulful, humble and down-to-earth person who i admire. he is much more than a great surfer.

Neon in your Neighborhood Contest

neo

Peachpit is running a contest for Photoshop World attendees. Win a Visit to the Neon Museum Boneyard!
The boneyard is an amazing place – lots of old signs, textures and colors. I took the photos of the letters above when I went there a few years ago. The location is a constant backdrop for fashion shoots, music videos, tv shows like CSI… you name it. The place is unreal!

Here’s the scoop
Twenty winners will receive a chartered round-trip bus ride from Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort, Las Vegas, to the Neon Museum “Boneyard” on October 2, and paid admittance.

To enter the contest
Grab your camera and take a few shots of your favorite local neon signs or art and submit one to flickr.

Winners
David DuChemin (an amazing photographer/author) and myself will pick 20 of our favorites to win a Phantastic Photowalk at the Neon Museum Boneyard in Las Vegas and lead them on a photo adventure that will include many more prizes and a few other great authors.
