Hi Chris. Hi everybody. Congratz for the photo , is more than amazing.
I think that one photo (or for example a picture) sometimes worth 1000 words.
I think this can be the case. The description of them can be seen if you look closely.
Again, congratulations for that picture, no words....

p.s: Great color combination

thanks for all the great comments/thoughts! i'm glad to see people feel comfortable to share some different ideas. i definitely like the input and appreciate the discussion about how much explanation works best. that's quite a tricky topic, yet the comments do make me want to occasionally try a couple of posts out where i provide more. i'll see what i can come up with. either way, thanks for all the kind words!!

Hi, Chris! First, let me say how much I enjoy browsing through the archives of this site and watching for new posts on a daily basis. Your creativity is a constant source of inspiration for me as I am beginning to take up photography as a way of documenting my life. My passion is not to just take great photo's, but to take great photos of things that mean the most to me in this world; my wife and my family.

Lynda.com CS4 Creative Effects and Creative Color tutorials have helped me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. Beyond the photoshop skills that were taught, I loved the creative tips and techniques you suggest along the way. I've also picked up your book...if I had to pick a favorite page it would have to be p. 214. Great stuff.

Hi... I too am responding and agreeing with James about too much explanation. One of the reasons I can follow this blog is because there is a great photo and not so much "blah, blah, blah....". I feel photo blogs need to show a photo and the text should be short and to the point. If I want more to learn from Chris Orwig... I will buy his book (which I did by the way). I love your photography and inspiration by the way Chris... and I will keep checking in for motivation and inspiration!

I have to disagree with you Scott. I think that the pictures speak for themselves, too much explaination can often take away from the impact or imagination of the picture. Ideas and inspiration can be expressed in images alone. As the saying goes: a picture can paint a thousand words!

Hi Chris,

I have now enjoyed reading all of your blog posts starting from your first and have really enjoyed your images especially of your family.

I have to say though that I have been a little disappointed in that there has not been more commentary from you on your images.

I would like to hear your take on how and more importantly why you did what you did in your images. Technique comments would inspire, but more so, the "why" of the technique comments would inspire us even more. This way your readers could start to learn from you and be challenged to go out and try their own take on what they have been inspired by.

Your subtitle for the blog is Ideas, Inspiration and Images. I would love to hear more from you about the ideas and the inspiration.

Thanks for your blog as I follow along.
