sophia grace

i am completely in love with my little sophia grace.
the photo  above was captured with a wood large format camera using discontinued & expired film.
for me, the degradation of the film makes the image more sentimental and thus more valuable.
it reminds me that photography is savoring both the passage of time and the moments in between.

Precious! You seem to really be having fun lately with your film. I’m enjoying it!

The juxtaposition of the old, degraded film and the “new” Dora the Explorer is one of those “aha” moments. Without the shirt, this photo could easily be mistaken as a 50 year old (or more) exposure. Dora adds a whole new dimension.

    Love it!

really enjoy the effort and time taken to produce this, my love is making the image before clicking the shutter.

Really wonderful shot. I was just going through your old “/today” project, and noticed that this one was also from December 13th… I’m not sure if it was 2008 or 2007 though… http://chrisorwig.com/today/index.php?showimage=766

Very cool to see the progression. Great great work!
