40 Hours
the gentlemen pictured above is a friend/acquaintance i met at photoshop world last week. he traveled 40 hours… all the way from angola in order to attend the conference – amazing!
thanks kelly!
today i was clearing some photos off my cf card and i came across some great photos my wife kelly took of me and my girls. i am the luckiest man alive.
russell brown
last week while at photoshop world i had the chance to chat with russell brown (senior creative director at adobe). as usual it was inspiring and thought provoking. he’s always pushing the envelope and getting people to have fun and get out of their comfort zone.
douglas and francoise kirkland
douglas kirkland is working on a few new photography courses for lynda.com – they are going to be epic! for one of the segments of the course, i was asked to interview douglas – what an honor! douglas has such a strong and infectious passion for photography. i’ll be sure to let you know when it goes live. above is a picture of douglas and his wife francoise on the set a lynda.com last week.

jay maisel
i had the chance to chat with jay maisel for a few minutes today. something he said struck a chord, “…you should never take a picture without a trigger. only take pictures when something compels you to move.”

zack arias
zack is a great photographer, teacher and all around cool cat. i had a chance to meet up with zack at photoshop world and was impressed and inspired by his approach to things. one of zack’s goals in life is to, “…comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.”
