strangers

in the previous post i mentioned i had met up with jeff lipsky. while i was there i asked him for an “assignment” that he thought would someone to create better photos. without skipping a beat he said, “…go out and take portraits of strangers.” i decided i would take the challenge and after saying goodbye (at about noon) i hit the streets and created some photos. the following week i was in ny and had a free hour, so i walked the brooklyn bridge and created some there as well. it was a fascinating and rewarding experience. definitely something i recommend to anyone who is interested in growing and developing as a photographer. to view the photos – click here.

grandma’s breakfast table

i was scanning some old film and came across this shot of annika at grandma’s breakfast table. i love her bed-head hair, posture and expression. its one of those lucky photos that are simple, yet say more than i could have hoped for. pictures like this, make me want to take more.
