vintage
i’ve always be interested in artist’s workshops and this one definitely drew me in. on the back wall of this painter’s workshop/studio he had displayed a intriguing collection of vintage items. this photo is just one small portion of a larger area. seeing this it has made me want to start a photo project creating portraits of artists and their space. if anyone knows someone who would be a good fit for the project, send me an email through the contact page – i would really appreciate it! i’m super excited about this new project and appreciate any thoughts, leads or ideas!
erik almas
i had the privilege of meeting up with photographer erik almas in san francisco to collaborate on a new project he is working on. at this point i can’t say too much, but i can say that it is going to be amazing! erik is a fascinating artist and person – someone i admire. his approach to photography and life are inspiring. i made the portraits above at his home in sf. check out a few of his pictures below.

the passage of time
reflections that unravel like a spool of thread
what once stood tall is now mostly gone
wind, water and wood
are all that remain
an imperfect balance
of pilings holding their ground
standing in a row
all but one
a faint memory
of days of old
as the hudson river
unwinds
to the
sea

using my two most recent books as a springboard, i’ve put together a brand new presentation on photography and how to create more compelling photographs! i’m really excited about the event! if you live near sf and can swing by – it would be great to see you!
on another note, it has been a few years since i have had the chance to make pictures in san francisco. i’m looking forward to wandering around the city with camera in hand – anyone have any tips or ideas on where i should go? thanks!
