flip_recordwhy the flipside?
my mom is an artist and she has always taught me that it’s important to tinker, to experiment, to play. my dad, who built the stunning northern caifornia home i grew up in, has always taught me that space is important. thus, i’ve created the flipside as a space and place for me to tinker and to document/share those tinkerings.

so what’s with the name?
the term flipside is commonly used: “see you on the flipside…” or “that’s true, but on the flipside….” yet originally, the term flipside stood for the for the B side of a 45 rpm record. you had to flip a record over to hear the flipside. and the B side track was always lesser known and not quite so mainstream. in reflecting on this, i’ve come to realize that as i’ve grown older, it is those tracks that i’ve come to enjoy even more. so i hope you enjoy some of my mine and that they provide you with a bit of off-beat, intriguing and enlivening inspiration.
